Today I explored the “Festival of the Grape Harvest” (or something) in Avully’s neighboring town of Russin. It was a great time! I biked over from Avully through gorgeous fields of grapes (and only a minor spell of perfume smell). The festival was delicious: delicious wine, tarts, salami, and fondue (didn’t taste the fondue, but it looked great). The weather was gorgeous, in the high 60s, low 70s, sunny — more than any Alaskan can ask for from summer. The company was also splendid! All in all, a wonderful Sunday. The slideshow also has pictures from yesterday’s adventure to Cartigny where I found a great trail in the woods and also some photos of the infamous perfume ingredients factory that is about 1.5k from my house….
